Muay Thai Kick Boxer Toughens Up Sports and Leisure Destination Facility in Phuket, Thailand
The competition to be established as Asia’s top international sports facility just became more difficult as Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) has chosen former Muay Thai champion “Thanootong’’ Prasert Intanoo to manage the martial arts programme at the sprawling Phuket, Thailand sports centre. Just as muay thai boxing requires commitment and ability, the move is another anecdote of the PIASLC bringing in top specialists to work at the up-and-coming first-rate facility and help position it as the leading sports and leisure destination in Asia.
The Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) complex has programmes attractive to just about anyone including highly competitive athletes, residents, holiday visitors and children. Aquatics, running, rugby, football (soccer), weight lifting, tennis and much more are offered already or coming soon at what is becoming the standard as a regional hub for sports, arts and wellness in Thailand and Asia, and quite possibly the world.
The PIASLCis organized into specialized sports academies. The new appointmentof Prasert Intanoo should push the Martial Arts Academy to the forefront. The PIA Aquatics Academy and the Football Academy have already established themselves as leading programmes. BSS is based upon Futebol de Salao (FDS). The training and game is known for a 5-a-side version of football with origins in Brazil. FDS is played with a smaller (size 2), and a little heavier (465gm) ball that has very little bounce to it. Now Muay Thai joins the best youth soccer training programme offered at the highest regarded sports and recreation complex in Southeast Asia.
Former Thailand national flyweight champion Khun Prasert was a Muay Thai professional kickboxer for 15 years with an distinguished record of seventy victories. He graduated from university with a degree in physical education. He later worked for Marriot as a Muay Thai trainer, and in his position as Recreation Supervisor managed wellness, corporate teambuilding and kid’s zone activities. Khun “Nok” (his Thai nickname) is also a qualified Pilates instructor and certified by the Thai Yoga Institute as an instructor.
