So you made an astonishing auto-responder email orders, you wrote lots of good articles, and you have an awful catchy landing page that sucks in the leads. Yet by any means you're getting almost no sells and you don't know why. Sound known? I realize this is a quiet ordinary problem, but it's unlucky that people still haven't discovered what's causing it.

I'll try to explain a little of what's happening to your sales without link cloaking throughout this article. Conversely to what you could be thinking - it is fully feasible that your sales funnel is making lots of sales, but you're not noticing any of the commission. Of course this is a pretty big problem that you'll want to take care of as soon as viable.

Chiefly what's happening is this: the user is changing your affiliate ID to their own, or spyware on their computer is doing it. Both of these will stop you from receiving credit for the sale even if you're the one who made it. There's no way that you can discontinue them from doing that, unless you cloak your link.

Link cloaking is when you program a redirect on your website that covers affiliate ID's and makes it unworkable for spyware or users to prevent you from getting sales.

I hope you understand the variation this may make, you could be giving somebody else all of your sales already. Rather than making money from your sales funnel you could be only handing it off to somebody else.

Though you make sales all the time without problems, few of them could still be stolen. It shouldn't harm anything to start hiding your links so you lock in the sales. The problem is that it could be tough to make a good link hide, unless you're a programmer (or something of that nature).

In its place you may use one of the several link cloaking services on the net, but I wouldn't suggest you only use the first one that you get. Many of these will actually mess up the tracking cookies and you STILL won't get credit for the sale. You need to make sure that you're using a cloaking service designed for affiliate marketing - and there aren't almost as many of those.

I have heard horror stories of individual who used redirection services akin to TinyURL and Bitly - seemingly they are disreputable for often screwing up affiliate links and not offering you credit for any sales. Several other link limiting services will have these problems also.

The good link cloaker is one that you may set on your own site so you don't have to worry regarding anything going down or not operating correctly. As I mentioned before, this might be difficult to make if you aren't a programmer - or willing to pay one.
